From the time I walked into the office until the time I left, everyone was extremely courteous and professional; very organized. Dr. James Malcolm is an exceptional physician and he has provided care for both my wife and me.

Doctor explained things

I had a very disappointing experience with this orthopedic doctor (Looney) regarding my hip care.

Staff and scheduling

If I could give 10 stars I would! The entire team at AOI/ATL was professional yet warm and welcoming- ALWAYS making sure I was comfortable and taken care of.

Reported improvement

Thank God for Dr. Pandya. I’ve had to have two knee replacements, one was a partial, (March 2023) and the most recent was a total.

Ask before you book

A clinic that answers these clearly is a different proposition from one that deflects. Take the list with you.

  1. 1Which specific product do you use, and is it my own tissue or a purchased donor product?
  2. 2Is it being used as a 361 HCT/P, or under an FDA investigational new drug application?
  3. 3Who performs the injection: the physician of record, or a PA or nurse practitioner?
  4. 4What is the total cost, and what happens if a second treatment is needed?
  5. 5What outcome data do you keep on your own patients for my specific condition?
  6. 6How many of these have you done for this indication, and what does a poor result look like?

What it is likely to cost

Atlanta Orthopaedic Institute has not published pricing, which is true of almost every clinic in this category. Insurance almost never covers the injection itself, though the consultation, imaging and any conventional treatment in the same visit often are covered.

Ask for the total in writing, including whether a second injection is billed separately, and ask for the CPT codes so you can check coverage yourself before you commit.
