Editorial policy
This site covers treatments that are expensive, largely uninsured, and in most cases not FDA-approved. That makes how we decide what to publish more important than what we publish.
Money
No clinic pays for a listing position, for a verification state, or to be included at all. We do not accept payment to remove a listing or to change what a listing says. If we ever introduce a paid product for clinics, it will not touch ranking or verification, and this page will say so before it launches.
How we handle medical claims
We do not state that a treatment works. We state what regulators have approved, what the published evidence currently supports, and where the two diverge. Where a clinic's own marketing makes a stronger claim than the evidence supports, we describe the treatment, not the marketing.
“Not FDA-approved” is a statement about regulatory status, not a verdict on whether something helps anyone. We use it precisely and we explain what it means on every page it appears.
Reviews and ratings
Ratings and review counts on this site are Google's, collected by Google from Google users. We display them as Google's with a link to the original listing, and we do not mark them up as our own ratings in structured data, because they are not ours.
Our review synthesis is our own analysis of a sample of review text. Every count is out of the sample we actually read, stated on the page, and never projected onto a clinic's full review total. Excerpts are short, attributed to the reviewer by name and date, and linked to the original.
Corrections
If a listing is wrong, tell us and we will fix it. Clinics can claim a listingand correct the record without paying anything. A correction does not change a clinic's verification state or its position in any result.
What we do not know
Our coverage is incomplete and we say so on the pages where it matters. A city page shows the clinics we hold records for, not every clinic in that city. A clinic's treatment list comes from public sources and may be out of date. We would rather show a smaller number honestly than a larger one we cannot stand behind.
